Week 6 - Discovering Del.icio.us

As I ambled around the local reserve looking for something different to do and see I spied http://del.icio.us/ and played with bookmarks and tags. It was easy to set up a user account and make the link accessible through my blog. Technorati was OK, some interesting links to the Olympic Games but it is a site that I will need to explore at length.
Six weeks have passed and I have been occupied with all the rites of spring,re-building the nest, stretching my legs around the pond and generally getting out in the fresh air and sunshine. I have revisited my del.icio.us tags and found that a few of the cooking tags have had over 4000 hits. Whoever thought sex was better than food is clearly wrong!

Week 3 - Technology stuff - http://krazydad.com/colrpickr/

Have worked my way backwards through our learning programme, as a good Pukeko should when they are stuck in the reeds and a large hairy white dog has the scent of your hidey hole...
Have really enjoyed playing with colour picker to create colours and designs. Great time waster but also huge fun. Matching shapes of drawings to actual photos posted on the web has been hilarious - who would have thought that a spring and a pukeko had similar design features.
Also had a great time posting comments on colleagues blogs...uKnowWhoIam

Week 4 - Picasaweb discovery

I've had a very busy day rummaging through the undergrowth, finding new things to play with and eyeball. Picasaweb is a very useful tool for storing your photographs and linking them to your blog. Plenty of storage space too! Why not take a look...

Week 5 - Wikis and our Library Week Programme

What an intriguing option Wikis give to on-line users. I have discovered that they can be a much better means of managing information, removing swamp loads of e-mail (the bane of my existence) but allowing infomation to be released into swamp society. The Blue Herons, Canadian Geese, common ducks, brown shags and of course my Pukeko friends can all see information that may be useful to them. If they are extremely cheeky they can even log in and change the stuff that I have put on the Wiki but I am hoping that they will simply offer themselves as Living Books during Library week...
Take a look at https://livingbook.pbwiki.com/Library-Week-at-Pakuranga-Library--August-18-to-24-2008 and check out the Library week "Living Library" programme. Strange how there are no Pukekos telling their story! I have also added my blog to the Learning Sandbox wiki. Do have a peck around it.
Wikis have stirred my grey matter and initiated thoughts on their use as marketing devices, peer forums, training opportunities, problem solving and project sharing amongst others - the world's your worm!!!

Image Generators - Dancing letters

This blue feathered bod played for hours with word clouds, facelifts, photo advertisers and a manner of things before deciding that less is more and inserting dancing letters as my blog option of choice for this exercise. If you like this effect please go to http://www.wobshite.co.uk/b3ta/letters/ to design your own.
